Squad 12 in Norwegian Open 2003 has just started. So far in the tournament, 27 players have scored more than 1300; on top we have 1) Mikael Ahlqvist (Pergamon, SWE) with 1458, 2) Svein Roger Olsen (Solli, NOR) with 1449 and 3) Thomas Leandersson (Pergamon, SWE) with 1443. Svein Roger Olsen has also the highest game, with the score 299.
After a few problems the first day of the tournament, things are now running smoothly. Almost all the international players have arrived, and the rest of the squads are fully booked. Many players will now have to rely on the Desperado Squad to get to the finals. Out of the 210 participants, only 48 will make the cut.
We are very pleased that so many Norwegian players have entered the tournament. Especially since this is the first time we have a major International Tournament like this in Norway. In spite of the intense competition we have 11 Norwegian players among the top 30 and 4 among the top 8.
